VISAKHAPATNAM: Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) launched ‘PG certificate in entrepreneurship’ programme on Monday. This 18-month programme aims to empower aspiring entrepreneurs from both the Telugu states.
To harness the entrepreneurial culture in India, 30 budding entrepreneurs were selected from diverse backgrounds.The participants possess a range of work experience (0-14 years) and qualifications. The programme combines 10 months of academic training and 8 months of mentorship for venture creation, aligning with SIDBI’s ‘Mission Swavalamban’ initiative.
Prof. Sushil Kumar, Program Director, shed light on the extensive support that IIMV is set to provide. The objective of this comprehensive programme is to drive innovation and economic growth through the skill to enterprise model. According to him, this includes theoretical and analytical training, as well as assistance in securing funding, ensuring a holistic approach to nurturing talent.
Saurabh Bajpai, deputy general manager, SIDBI, graced the event as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasised the pivotal role of ‘education-4-entrepreneurs’ in fostering employment creation. He encouraged participants to make the most of this unique opportunity with the ultimate goal of venture creation and value proposition.
