NEW DELHI: Star India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant expressed his frustration and anger towards those spreading fake news about his potential transfer to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the upcoming season.
Pant criticized an X user for spreading false information on the social media platform. The user, without providing any credible sources, alleged that Pant’s management had inquired about the possibility of him becoming the captain of the RCB team, but Pant ultimately declined the offer.
The user further insinuated that this decision was influenced by a political agenda, taking a swipe at senior batsman Virat Kohli in the process.
In response to these baseless claims, Pant expressed his strong disapproval and urged the X user to exercise more responsibility when sharing such information.
He emphasized the importance of not creating an atmosphere of mistrust and encouraged the individual to verify the facts with reliable sources before making such statements.

MUMBAI: Launching a scathing attack against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde over waterlogging in various parts of the state, Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray on Thursday said that the situation in Mumbai, Thane, Pune and many other places in the state was terrible due to rain yesterday and that just half an hour of rain has exposed him.
“Yesterday, the Chief Minister gave out a statement that he would make Mumbai pothole-free but just half an hour of rain exposed him.Various places received heavy rains and some witnessed minimal, and it got waterlogged. One person died. Nobody cares about Mumbai,” said Aaditya Thackeray.
“The situation in Mumbai, Pune, Thane was terrible. A lot of citizens yesterday were stuck in traffic. The situation at metro stations was bad. One of the metro stations started leaking. Nobody from the regime was there on the street to answer. Be it BMC, Mumbai police or any other agency, none took the responsibility and addressed the public,” he added.
On Wednesday, in the wake of torrential rains across Mumbai, severe waterlogging and traffic snarls were witnessed in several parts of the city, with a landslide also reported at the Mumbra bypass, causing further disruptions to movement in the city.
Severe waterlogging was witnessed in Mumbai’s Kurla East area, Nehru Nagar, and Chembur and heavy traffic snarls were witnessed on Kurla bridge following the rain.
Heavy rains triggered a landslide at the Mumbra bypass at around 11.30 pm which disrupted traffic movement on the bypass and lasted for more than 3 hours.
In a tragic turn of events, a 45-year-old lady drowned in an open drain in the MIDC area of Andheri.
On Thursday, the Central Railways said that the local train services were restored in Andheri station in the morning as the water receded following a night of heavy downpour across Maharashtra’s Mumbai resulting in severe waterlogging.

He added that as his parents faced financial issues, the insurance companies refused to help in this matter. Despite all odds, his parents managed to get him treated, visiting countless hospitals.

Explained: How ED cracked down on Rs 400 crore ‘Chinese’ gaming app scam
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has identified and arrested four individuals in connection with an online gaming app, Fiewin. The app, initially presented as a legitimate platform for users to earn money through games, is now under investigation for its role in defrauding users of over Rs 400 crore. The money was then laundered using digital wallets linked to a global crypto exchange.
World’s largest crypto platform Binance claimed that its Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) provided critical intelligence that helped ED in tracing the funds and uncovering the fraud network. According to a report by The Economic Times, the ED probe also discovered that the platform Chinese nationals allegedly operated the illegal betting/gaming app with the help of their Indian accomplices.
Fiewin gaming app scam: What is it and how it worked
In a report, Binance explained that the Fiewin app gained traction by promising users the opportunity to earn money easily by playing mini-games. The app allowed new users to quickly create an account and begin participating in the app’s activities, with the option to “top up” their in-app balance via various payment methods.
However, reports have surfaced suggesting that once users’ accounts accumulated substantial funds, the app stopped allowing them to withdraw the funds, leaving them unable to recover their money.
An investigation by the ED revealed that Rs 400 crore was stolen through this scheme. This money was transferred into various cryptocurrency addresses, which were later traced back to the operation.
Local police across the country began receiving reports from victims who lost funds to the Fiewin app. Due to the growing number of victims reporting the scams, the case was escalated to ED.
Through its investigation, ED discovered that the app had been part of a cross-border criminal network it used various methods to obfuscate the origin and movement of illicit funds by utilizing bank accounts of “mules” and cryptocurrency wallets, creating a complex web of transactions to hinder detection and tracing.
The investigation has led to the arrest of several individuals who played key roles in facilitating the fraud, working in tandem with handlers linked to Fiewin’s gaming apps. The criminals communicated via privacy-focused messaging apps and operated from various locations, ED added.

Binance’s specialised investigation team is a great example of how private-sector firms can work closely with law enforcement. In this case, they provided us with analytical support that contributed to the investigation,” an ED representative said.
