Rats can cause significant damage by contaminating food, chewing through materials and spreading diseases.

Despite our culture being all about revering our guests, there is always a guest no one wants and we are talking about rodents. A rat infestation is the worst that could happen to the upkeep of your home. Rats and mice can infest various parts of a home, including sheds, garages, attics, vehicles like lawnmowers and cars, as well as items like barbecue grills. They aren’t selective about where they settle as long as the environment is warm, dry and comfortable. Rats can cause significant damage by contaminating food, chewing through materials and spreading diseases through their urine, saliva and droppings. Keeping these pests out is crucial for maintaining a safe and healthy living environment.

In this context, Arun Kumar Singh, spokesperson of the science department at SBVP College in Shivgarh, Raebareli district, said that most of the people are suffering from mice infestation in their homes. According to him, using alum as a repellent is a simple and inexpensive method to deter rats. By purchasing alum for around Rs.10, you can either grind it into a powder or dissolve it into a solution. Sprinkling the powder or spraying the solution in areas where rats frequent—like attics, garages, or other spaces—can help keep them away. Alum has properties that may repel rats and if done regularly, this method could assist in driving them out of your home.

To use alum as a rat repellent, you can follow these simple steps:

  1. Grind the alum into powder: Break the alum into small pieces and grind it into a fine powder.
  2. Prepare the solution: Take the alum powder and mix it with water in a bottle to create a solution.
  3. Application: Spray the alum solution in areas where you’ve noticed rat activity or potential infestation spots around your house, such as the attic, garage, or kitchen. Alternatively, you can sprinkle the powder directly in these areas for the same effect.

This method is said to help repel rats and prevent them from coming back, keeping your home free from infestations.

Macklemore Faces Backlash Over ‘F**k America’ Remarks at Pro-Palestine Concert |

Macklemore responds to backlash over "F**k America" controversy

Rapper Macklemore has addressed the backlash surrounding his controversial remarks made during a pro-Palestine benefit concert titled ‘Palestine Will Live Forever’.
The artist, known for hits like ‘Thrift Shop‘, performed at the event in Seattle, where he made headlines for saying “F**k America” on stage. A video of the incident, which gained traction on social media platform X, shows Macklemore making the comment during his performance of “Hind’s Hall 2,” a song that supports the Palestinian cause.
In response to the controversy, Macklemore took to Instagram on Wednesday to clarify his statement and reaffirm his stance. In a lengthy post, he admitted that his words may have been expressed “imperfectly” in the heat of the moment. The star wrote, “My thoughts and feelings are not always expressed perfectly or politely. Sometimes I slip up and get caught up in the moment. Saturday night was one of those times… Unfortunately, the historic event in my hometown that brought thousands of people together to raise awareness and money for the people of Palestine has become overshadowed by two words.”
Macklemore also criticised the US government’s support for Israel in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, describing the situation as “genocide.” He said he has been “disillusioned and disheartened as our government has continued to unequivocally fund and support Israel’s on-going violence against the people of Palestine.”
The rapper has long been a vocal advocate for Palestinian rights. In May, he released Hind’s Hall, a protest song supporting pro-Palestinian demonstrators and calling for an end to Israel’s actions in Gaza, with all proceeds going to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. He has also participated in protests and issued statements condemning the violence in Gaza.

In his latest Instagram post, Macklemore acknowledged the personal cost of his activism, noting that he has lost endorsements, shows, and business relationships due to his outspoken stance. Despite these setbacks, he remains “unwavering” in his support for a “Free Palestine.” He concluded by stating that his pursuit is rooted in peace, love, and equality, adding, “I don’t think I’m alone.”
On the same day, it was announced that Macklemore would no longer perform at Las Vegas’ Neon City Festival due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

NC, Congress and PDP responsible for terrorism in J&K: Amit Shah in Udhampur rally | India News

NC, Congress and PDP responsible for terrorism in J&K: Amit Shah in Udhampur rally

NEW DELHI: National Conference, Congress and Jammu and Kashmir‘s People’s Democratic Party are responsible for terrorism spread in the union territory, Union home minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday.
While addressing a rally in Udhampur, Amit Shah alleged that if NC-Congress alliance come to power then they would impose Pakistan’s agenda.
“The whole world is watching these elections with great attention. On one hand, NC, Congress and PDP are responsible for the terrorism that spread in Jammu and Kashmir for 40 years. On the other hand, there is BJP which is burying terrorism to the depths,” the Union minister said.

The Narendra Modi-led government, Shah said in his address, had fulfilled the dream of party’s patriarch Syama Prasad Mukherjee in August 2019 when it abrogated Article 370.
Shah said whoever spreads terror in Jammu and Kashmir will get his answer at the the gallows.
“I want to ask you whether (Parliament attack convict) Afzal Guru should have been hanged or not. The NC-Congress are now saying he should not have been hanged…,” Shah said.

“They want to release stone pelters and terrorists. Omar Abdullah gave up these dreams because you cannot do it. It is the duty of courts and we have enforced such laws that nobody will dare to hurl a stone anymore,” the minister said at the rally in Udhampur district’s Chenani area.
At the rally Shah also said that no one can restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. This came in a response to Rahul Gandhi’s statement over restoring Article 370 in the region.
“You will all vote not just for Chenani but make a decision for the entire J&K. After independence, it is for the first time that an election is held here where there is no Article 370 or a separate flag…NC and Rahul Baba say that we will bring back Article 370, but I want to tell them that neither you nor the three generations of yours will be able to bring back Article 370.”

He further attacked three families–‘Gandhis”, ‘Muftis’ and ‘Abdhullas’ in his address and said that the families only gave tickets to their own people.
“The three families have given tickets to their own people and made only 87 MLA. But we made more than 30,000 Panch, Sarpanch and Tehsil Panchayats… The river of corruption that they started was cleaned by Prime Minister Modi from the bottom,” Amit Shah said.

This Bihar IPS Officer Boasts A Collection Of 2500 Comic Books

Pankaj Kumar Raj cherishes each and every comic character.

Pankaj Kumar Raj cherishes each and every comic character.

The officer is famous for his extraordinary collection of classic comics in a world dominated by mobiles.

There was a time when comics were our primary source of imagination and adventure. Superheroes like Super Commando Dhruva, Nagraj and Chacha Chaudhary made our childhood special. Escaping into these vibrant stories was a cherished pastime, offering a break from schoolbooks and a chance to feel like a hero ourselves. With the advent of smartphones and the internet, that enchanting world of comics seems to have faded into memory. In Patna, one IPS officer is keeping that magic alive. This officer, who has achieved remarkable success in his career, holds on to his treasure trove of comics with pride.

Pankaj Kumar Raj, the Superintendent of Police and Assistant Director of Civil Defence in Patna, isn’t just any IPS officer. He is famous for holding an extraordinary collection of classic comics in a world dominated by mobiles and laptops. His collection doesn’t consist of just a few but includes around 2000 to 2500 comics. Some are so old that reading them feels like stepping back through time. IPS Pankaj has carefully preserved these comics in cupboards and Godrej cabinets, treating them like priceless treasures.

Although Pankaj Kumar Raj cherishes each and every comic character, he has a favourite since childhood — Super Commando Dhruva, who would conquer his enemies without any superpowers, relying solely on his courage and intelligence. Pankaj shared with Local 18 that this was the trait he admired most in Dhruva. Dhruva’s determination and ability to overcome every challenge inspired Pankaj to aim high in life. This inspiration is why he eventually became an IPS officer. Like Dhruva, Pankaj firmly believes that superpowers aren’t necessary; hard work and strong willpower are enough to achieve success.

Even to this day, when his office work is over and he has some free time, he picks up his comics instead of using his mobile. Pankaj Kumar Raj is not only a champion of comics but also of badminton. He is also the captain of the Bihar team in the All India Police Badminton Tournament. Along with this, he has been posted as SP in many districts

JetBlue Viral Video: ‘Chill the f**k out’: Woman ‘steals’ man’s Apple charger on JetBlue flight, says she was going to give it back

'Chill the f**k out': Woman 'steals' man's Apple charger on JetBlue flight, says she was going to give it back

A video of a heated altercation on a JetBlue flight has gone viral as a man confronts a fellow woman passenger asking her whether she took his phone charger. The woman calmly says she took the charger and was going to give it back. As the man got enraged and told the woman that taking other’s thing without permission is called stealing, the woman asked him to chill the f**k down as she was going to return the charger anyway.
“Is it stealing if you give it back?” the woman asked.
“Yes, it’s stealing! You’re only giving it back because I caught you! Everyone else saw you, that’s why!” the man said and it did not end there as they took their fight on TikTok presenting their sides of the story.

As the video posted by the man went viral now showing the woman as an unscrupulous thief, Vanessa, the woman, shared her side of the story in which the passengers were asked to deboard the plane due to technical issues. She was sitting towards the back and was one of the last to leave. She said she saw the charger on the floor, and picked it up. She claimed she told a stewardess about the chargers but she did not take it and so she put in inside her bag.

Once they re-boarded the plane, Vanessa claimed that she told the owner, Eddie Orellano, that his charger was with her. At that point, the man was flustered having lost the charger and people told him they saw a blonde woman unplugging it from the socket under his seat. Vanessa, however, denied that she took it out of the plug.
“I was really stressed out, exhausted, worried about my cat, out of breath. Eight hours at the airport only to be recorded and yelled at,” the woman said explaining why she wanted to first settle down at her seat and then give the charger back.
The woman in her video said the incident happened a year ago and she wasn’t going to issue a statement but now the situation has been blown out of proportion after the man’s video went viral.
