JAIPUR: Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police on Sunday arrested two suspects in connection with the use of dummy candidates in various recruitment exams.
ADG (SOG) VK Singh said the two arrested are identified as Mahesh Kumar Meena, a clerk in Dausa, and Deepak Kumar Meena, who passed the sub-inspector’s written exam. They were part of a larger racket involved in multiple exam frauds.
Singh said that both Mahesh and Deepak were wanted in cases related to cheating in competitive exams, including the Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam, Patwari Recruitment Exam-2021, and LDC Recruitment Exam-2021. The suspects, along with their accomplices, used dummy candidates to clear these exams and even secured positions through fraudulent means. Roshanlal Meena, who has already been arrested, acted as the dummy candidate in these cases.
“In place of Deepak, Roshan appeared for the sub-inspector exam, allowing Deepak to pass the written test,” Singh said. Similarly, Roshan appeared for both the written test and interview on behalf of Deepak’s brother, Manish, who was selected as a sub-inspector but is currently absconding.
In addition to this, Roshan also took the written exam for Mahesh and another absconding accused, Dinesh Kumar Meena, in the clerk recruitment exam. Both Mahesh and Dinesh were selected and posted in the commercial tax department in Dausa. Manish, Dinesh, and Deepak are three brothers, with Mahesh as their uncle.
Manish is believed to be the mastermind behind this racket, working with Roshanlal Meena to get his relatives and associates selected by using dummy candidates. The SOG has declared a reward of Rs 25,000 on Manish and Rs 10,000 on Dinesh, both of whom remain at large. The SOG officials also said that their primary investigation has revealed that other relatives of the accused also cleared exams in a similar manner.
