Rikishi Warns WWE: Jacob Fatu Being ‘Pushed Too Fast’ Against Cody Rhodes | WWE News

Solo Sikoa was just given another chance to go up against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. But before this match was made public, Rhodes had first offered Sikoa’s Bloodline cousin Jacob Fatu the chance to win the title. In the end, Fatu made the decision to turn down the tempting offer. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi stated that he thought it was premature to have his nephew take on Rhodes in this particular situation.

Rikishi on Jacob Fatu’s WWE Future, Logan Paul’s $5M Beef, & Nicki Minaj’s Hulk Hogan Moment | Ep 33

“I think Jacob is being pushed too fast,” Rikishi stated during an episode of the “Off The Top” podcast. He elaborated, “When you go to Cody, where do you go from there? Cody is the guy right now.” Rikishi has previously emphasized the importance of allowing Fatu to develop more before stepping into the spotlight. He suggested, “I’ve said this before, let Jacob rampage through the whole roster. Give him a couple of those enhancement matches to build. He don’t need but three minutes.”
Rikishi pointed out that, although Fatu has been in action for a couple of months, there hasn’t been significant growth or change in his presentation. “Again, we’ve seen Jacob however long he’s been on, a couple months or whatever, but is there anything different? You can only do so much on a run-in. This is what I’m saying. You really want to go with a guy? Show his talent, let him have not a match-match, [but] a squash match just so he can show his potential of what else this kid can do.”

Moreover, Rikishi insisted, “I wouldn’t feed Jacob to Cody. That match is not deserving yet to happen.” He feels that Fatu should be given the time to fully establish himself before taking on top-tier talent like Rhodes.
Following Fatu’s rejection of Rhodes’ offer for a title match, Solo Sikoa stepped in to challenge for the championship on the September 13 episode of WWE SmackDown. After Rhodes successfully defended his title, the Bloodline retaliated with a vicious attack. Fortunately for Rhodes, he received timely assistance from a returning Roman Reigns, who helped fend off the assault. Looking ahead, Rhodes and Reigns are set to team up against Fatu and Sikoa in a highly anticipated tag team match at WWE Bad Blood.

Hairdresser from the Bengali entertainment industry attempts suicide accusing 11 guild and federation members; DAEI issues statement | Bengali Movie News

After the heinous crime at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital where a young lady doctor (PGT) was raped and murdered on August 9, Bengal came out on the street demanding justice for the victim and her family, and raising its voice for safety and security for women, queer, non-binary and trans-folks at all places. What started as a movement of doctors demanding justice from the RG Kar rape-murder victim and her family turned into a mass movement, and the Bengali entertainment industry stood in solidarity.Artists and technicians from the film and television fraternity have started to come out with their share of various encounters of harrowing stories as well. A well-known hairdresser from Tollywood recently set herself on fire in an attempted suicide after being deprived of work for several months. The hairdresser was saved by her daughter and has sustained a number of serious burn injuries. Directors’ Association of Eastern India has issued a statement after this horrifying incident.
Through its statement, DAEI has demanded safety of artists and technicians in the workplace, as well as argued for the removal of the people who were responsible for the hairdressers’ harassment. The statement issued by DAEI said, “A fellow hairstylist of ours tried to commit suicide by pouring kerosene on herself because she raised some questions about the democratic procedure of the federation (FCTWEI) and her guild Cine and Video Hair Stylist Association, which is part of the federation. She was suspended from work for two and a half months. As her ex-husband is sick, she had to take the entire responsibility of her family. She worked tirelessly to put her daughter through college. The suspension left the family in debt. She and her family faced a dire financial crisis. When her suspension period was over, then came the final blow.” The statement went on, “The guild told her that she could work, but she could only join the work they cleared her for. They asked her not to take work on her own accord. And if any critical comments or discussions about the Federation’s procedures or the Guild’s rules were followed, more severe action would be taken.” The statement of DAEI went on to narrate more harrowing examples of the guild and federations’ deeds and how they made the artists and technicians’ live extremely stressful and living hell.
The DAEI stated, “We are appealing to all colleagues, you who belong to any guild, any organization whatsoever, to come join us to stand against this evil violence. If we don’t stand today, we will never be able to stand in future. Time has come to recognize the true nature of the people involved in this illegal activity under the guise of benevolent technicians.” DAEI concluded their statement, writing, “We want the removal of those who made this decision. We want all illegal rules to be abolished. We want our workplace to be fearless. Be free of bias, end Tughlaki rule. All guidelines should be discussed and restructured in a truly democratic manner. Let the welfare and environment of film and television workers be protected through their own workers, on a transparent legal basis, looking after the interests of all.”
The hairdresser, who attempted suicide wrote in an alleged suicide note, “I was suspended for three months from May 1 but even then, I was not allowed to work properly. I could not fulfill my family responsibilities properly, so I am forced to commit suicide. Committee members of my guild are responsible for this.” The hairdresser added, “I was denied one job after another. I was set to work for Mainak Bhaumik’s upcoming film but the production manager informed me that the guild had instructed them not to give me the assignment.”
The victim was saved by the doctors but has sustained some serious burn injuries. She has been discharged from the hospital and is now under recovery.

Saturn: The Kingmaker of the Cosmos

Saturn, often feared for its tough lessons, is actually the “Kingmaker” of the cosmos. It’s the planet of discipline, responsibility, and growth—pushing you to rise to greatness through hard work and perseverance. If you’re looking to build a kingdom (or just a successful life), Saturn is the force that guides you through the challenges and rewards you for your efforts.
Saturn doesn’t give you a free pass. It’s not the planet of quick success or lucky breaks. Instead, it’s the one that says, “Earn it.” Think of it as the strict but wise teacher who sees your potential and pushes you to be your best self. In astrology, Saturn’s placement in your birth chart reveals where you’ll face obstacles, but also where you’ll gain the most wisdom. It’s a planet of tests, but those tests are designed to strengthen you.
When Saturn returns to its original position in your birth chart (around the ages of 29 and 58), you face what’s known as a “Saturn Return.” This is a time when life may feel a little rocky, but it’s a cosmic push toward maturity. It’s like Saturn is saying, “Are you ready to step up?” Those who embrace the challenges often emerge with a renewed sense of purpose and direction, while those who resist may struggle with feelings of limitation or stagnation.
Despite its serious reputation, Saturn is not here to punish. It’s here to shape you into the person you’re meant to be. When you follow Saturn’s guidance, you’re rewarded with lasting success—whether that’s in your career, relationships, or personal development. Saturn’s gift is mastery, but only for those willing to put in the work.
In essence, Saturn is the Kingmaker. It doesn’t hand you the crown; it makes sure you’re worthy of wearing it. So, if you feel like life’s giving you a bit of a tough time, take it as a Saturn lesson. It’s building you up, preparing you for your throne.

Accidents continue on Pune’s Shankatsheth Road due to poor visibility and broken divider, PMC promises action | Pune News

Accidents continue on Pune's Shankatsheth Road due to poor visibility and broken divider, PMC promises action

PUNE: On Sunday night, Ashok Majethia, a Pune resident was on his way from Pulgate to his home in Karvenagar when he met with an unfortunate accident.
Majethia’s SUV drove over the divider right outside the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) office on Shankatsheth road which is half demolished while the remaining part of the divider does not have any reflectors or warning signs. The poor street lights made it even more difficult to see the divider.
Just like him in the past, many accidents have taken place in the same spot, said locals who helped Majethia get his car down.
Earlier, TOI had highlighted the issue of poor dividers and road signages on the same road causing accidents, following which the authorities took temporary measures like painting reflectors or putting up barricades. However, these measures faded over time and the barricades have also been removed.
Majethia said, “I was on my way home when suddenly the car rammed into the divider as I was trying to avoid a bus which was overtaking me from the left to get to the bus stop on the other end, and so I could not see the divider on the right side. The divider was half broken and ascending in height, which is when the car got stuck. There were no reflectors or warning signs, and there was heavy traffic. The locals helped me get the car down and also told me that this has become an accident-prone zone.”
Ravi Khothe, a local resident who helped Majethia, said, “This has become a high accident zone, and we see such minor and major accidents almost on a regular basis. Two-wheelers are often seen bumping against the divider, and four-wheelers get stuck. Fortunately, the driver did not get any serious injuries, but the administration needs to take immediate action.”
Although this particular stretch of road belongs to the PWD, in a GR issued by the govt in November 2017, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) was handed over the responsibility to maintain and repair this road along with 11 other such roads that belong to PWD and run through Pune district.
Aniruddha Pawaskar, Chief Engineer, Roads Department, PMC, said, “I will ask my engineer to visit the site and inspect it, and we will do the needful.”

How Sri Lanka’s new president moved From Marxist rebellion to mainstream

In the late 1980s, Anura Kumara Dissanayake joined a Marxist-Leninist party that sought to assassinate Sri Lanka’s leaders and overthrow the government in an armed insurrection. On Sunday, he won the presidency peacefully at the ballot box.
Dissanayake, 55, has disowned the violent past of his Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna party and moved it more toward the mainstream of Sri Lankan politics.Still, for a nation that has tended to rotate the presidency between a handful of dynastic political families, his rise to power represents an outpouring of anger among the nation’s 22 million people.
“The elites are besides themselves at the thought that this outsider might be actually leading this country,” said Harini Amarasuriya, a lawmaker and a member of Dissanayake’s coalition. “He has been in parliament for 24 years and a political activist for about 30 years, so you can’t discount that.”
Street protesters in 2022 ousted then-president Gotabaya Rajapaksa, whose financial mismanagement contributed to bankrupting the nation and produced shortages of basic goods like food and fuel. Parliament then appointed Ranil Wickremesinghe to lead Sri Lanka into talks with the International Monetary Fund, which approved a $3 billion bailout on the condition that the country clean up its finances.
Ordinary citizens ended up paying for that in the form of higher taxes and electricity bills. On Sunday, they voted in the leftist leader Dissanayake, a political outsider, in an effort to alleviate some of that pain.
Dissanayake doesn’t want to tear the IMF deal up — a sign of how far his party has changed from the days of rebellion. But he does want to renegotiate some of the loan conditions to ease the burden on the poor. It’s also unclear if Dissanayake will follow through with the agreement struck between the previous administration and bondholders to restructure about $12.6 billion in bonds.
That uncertainty has weighed on investor sentiment. Sri Lanka’s dollar bonds due in 2027 and 2029 fell by the most in over 2 years on Monday, the first day of trading after Saturday’s election. The rupee inched higher against the dollar to 303.85, rising with stocks as investors hope for the new leader to stick with the IMF program.

Sri Lanka's main creditors

During his inauguration speech in Colombo on Monday, Dissanayake acknowledged that Sri Lanka “needs international support.”
“Whatever the power divisions, we expect to act in the most advantageous way,” he said. “We should not be an isolated country. We have to go forward in the world in unity and cooperation.”
Known by his initials AKD, Dissanayake holds more of a popular mandate than any Sri Lankan leader in recent years. He emerged during the campaign as the standard bearer for the demands of the 2022 protest movement, successfully harnessing a groundswell of lingering discontent by vowing to eliminate corruption and lead with good governance.
Although his party is notionally communist, featuring a hammer-and-sickle logo on its website, Dissanayake has signaled he would balance ties between major powers — the region’s biggest strategic rivals, India and China, both major investors in Sri Lanka. In his manifesto, he pledged to re-examine international trade agreements in a bid to bolster exports, and his backers have called for greater scrutiny of investment deals with China and other nations to avoid future debt traps.
In a high-profile visit to India in February, Dissanayake held meetings with both minister of external affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and national security advisor Ajit Doval. Two months later, a Chinese Communist party delegation visited Dissanayake’s office to discuss politics.
“When you look at his history, he has had a more nationalist stance—not pro-China or pro-India,” said Chulanee Attanayake, a researcher and sessional lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology who’s an expert in Sri Lankan foreign policy.
“Someone might assume that because they are historically a Marxist-Leninist party they will align closely with China because of their ideological similarity, but they have come a long way from being that,” she added. “In this election, they presented themselves more like a center-left party.”
A key foreign-policy test could be whether Dissanayake follows through on the previous government’s decision to lift a ban on foreign research vessels from docking in its waters. Sri Lanka had instituted the moratorium at the start of the year after the US and India complained about visits by Chinese research vessels, but later said it would lift the ban because it didn’t want to unfairly penalize China.
Dissanayake’s victory underscores the extent by which Sri Lanka’s political landscape has been upended by the crisis years. As in this election, Dissanayake in 2019 ran for president on a campaign attacking the country’s political establishment, telling a local journalist that the two leading contenders were in fact “one camp that is responsible for the socio-economic malaise that has gripped the country for the past 71 years in the post-independence era.”
“This camp resorted to the most despicable kind of acts in politics,” he said. “We joined the fray to represent the other political camp.” That year, his candidacy attracted just 3% of the vote. This year, he beat his second-place rival by more than 1.2 million votes.
Dissanayake was active in student politics with the JVP during the 1987-89 uprising against the government, which was brutally suppressed by Sri Lankan paramilitary forces. He became the party’s leader in 2014 and has since incorporated civil society leaders and academics to appeal to a broader section of society.
The party has also shifted away from its anti-capitalist roots and briefly joined coalition governments. Still, the JVP leadership is untested as administrators: The National People’s Power coalition that it leads has only three members in the 225-seat parliament.
While Sri Lankans were unhappy with the IMF deal, the economy showed signs of progress under Wickremesinghe. Inflation has slowed to low single-digits from nearly 70%, borrowing costs have fallen, growth has picked up and there were breakthroughs in debt restructuring talks.
Still, Dissanayake pointed out Monday he’s inheriting a “challenging country.” In a speech after being sworn into office, the new president said “there is a need for a good political culture that the people expect. We are ready to commit to that.”
