Flipkart has faced criticism for a promotional video. The video shows how women can order and store handbags from the e-commerce platform without their husbands knowing about the same was deemed offensive by a men’s rights group. The National Council for Men has alleged that they consider the video posted by the Walmart-backed company to be a “misandrist” as it claims husbands to be “Aalsi, Kambakkht and Bewakoof Pati.” Following the backlash, Flipkart has since deleted the video from its social media portals.However, the male rights group also shared the video to criticise it which is still available on the social media platform X (earlier Twitter)

Criticising the video, male rights group NCM India Council For Men Affairs wrote on X: “So @Flipkart deleted this misandrist post. But what was the logic behind even posting such a toxic video addressing a Husband as Aalsi, Kambakkht and Bewakoof Pati? They must apologise for this and hope they will not repeat it. Misandry will Not be Tolerated Anymore.”

Flipkart apologises for the video

Responding to the criticism Flipkart not only deleted the video but also apologised for the same. The company said: “We’re sorry for the offending video which was posted in error, and took it down as soon as we realised our mistake. We will do better in the future.”

How users reacted to the post

The post shared by the men’s rights group has already received 1.6 lakh views and hundreds of comments.
“They say sorry for posting the video, not for making it or even thinking about it! pakade gaye toh sorry!” one of the users said criticising the e-commerce platform

“@Flipkart How many women do you think that shopping on their own money? And you’re mocking their husbands. Wow!” another user added.
