The trio once known as The Pride has had a strange turn on WWE SmackDown in recent months, notably with Bobby Lashley’s absence that has continued for several weeks without his return. The Street Profits, B-Fab, and Bobby Lashley made up the faction, which was created just before Lashley left WWE. Lashley’s departure hasn’t been discussed on television, but the other three members have carried on together.

A number of WWE celebrities rejoiced when Angelo Dawkins, off-screen, recently announced the birth of his second kid.Among the people who congratulated Dawkins was Lashley, who addressed him as “fam,” indicating that the two haven’t changed all that much.
Looking ahead, Lashley is expected to reunite with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. The Hurt Business could return under a new name if the trio makes their way to AEW.

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Bobby Lashley’s WWE contract is nearing its expiration, with the veteran wrestler reportedly removed from the company’s internal roster. PWInsider provided additional updates on Lashley’s status, as well as his former manager, MVP. While WWE has offered Lashley a new contract, the 48-year-old is reportedly not thrilled with the terms and is expected to leave the company.
MVP’s contract is also set to expire in mid-August, and there have been no “major discussions” about renewing his deal. Although there were earlier talks of MVP transitioning into an announcer or producer role, none of those plans came to fruition.
Both Lashley and MVP are expected to attract interest from outside promotions once they leave WWE. The two were significant members of The Hurt Business, a fan-favorite WWE faction many believed was disbanded too soon. There’s speculation that the group could reunite under a different name in another promotion, such as AEW. Although WWE owns the rights to The Hurt Business name, nothing would prevent AEW from reviving the group under a new title. The faction also included Shelton Benjamin, who was released from his WWE contract last year, and Cedric Alexander, who remains with the company.
PWInsider’s report differs from Fightful’s in one aspect, stating that Lashley is still listed on WWE’s internal SmackDown roster. However, Lashley has not appeared on television since April, nor has he accompanied the Street Profits during their recent SmackDown segments. Lashley had been working alongside the Street Profits in a trio called The Pride, which was formed in 2023.
