India vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test: Elaborate security arrangements in Kanpur | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: A top official stated on Tuesday that comprehensive security plans have been prepared for the September 27 India-Bangladesh second Test match, which is set to take place at the International Green Park stadium in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
According to ACP Harish Chander, a formal complaint was lodged on Monday against twenty members of the Akhilesh Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha for allegedly planning a “havan” and blocking the road in front of the stadium in protest of the atrocities committed against Hindus in Bangladesh.
A “fool-proof” security plan has been developed, according to the police, for the cricket teams from India and Bangladesh, who are expected to be here by Tuesday night.
Harish Chander, the Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) for Kanpur, told PTI that the team has requested the deployment of a sufficient number of police officers, including senior rank officials, for the game.
“We are reviewing the security arrangements to leave no stone unturned and (are) confident of getting an adequate police force to meet the requirements,” he added, as per PTI.
According to the officer, they were working together with federal and state authorities, such as the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the state intelligence, to exchange information about potential dangers and how to appropriately address them.
DCP (East) Shrawan Kumar Singh, who has been appointed the event’s nodal officer, announced that the Green Park stadium and Hotel Landmark have been split up into sectors, zones, and sub-zones, with DCP, additional DCP, and ACP level officials in charge of each.
In addition, there will be detours for traffic before the game.
Rakesh Mishra, Vikas, Atul, Jaydeep, Vikas Gupta, Prashant Dheer, Ajay Rathore, Ashish, Brajesh, and roughly ten more unnamed people were listed in the FIR.
The BNS sections of 189(2) (illegal assembly), 191 (2) (rioting), 223 (disobeying an order issued by a public official), and 285 (obstruction or injury to any person in any public way) are the ones under which the FIR has been filed, he said.
